For the brownie layer:

  • ½ cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the cookie layer:

  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions
 

Step 1: Preheat oven

  • Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and line your baking pan.

Step 2: Make brownie batter

  • In a bowl, mix melted butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. Stir in cocoa powder, flour, and salt until smooth.

Step 3: Prepare cookie dough

  • In another bowl, cream butter and sugars. Add egg and vanilla. Mix in flour, baking soda, and salt. Fold in chocolate chips.

Step 4: Layer

  • Spread brownie batter evenly in the pan. Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough on top and gently spread.

Step 5: Bake

  • Bake for 30–35 minutes until the top is golden and a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.

Step 6: Cool

  • Let cool completely before slicing into squares.
