- 300 g pasta penne or rotini
- 300 g kielbasa sausage sliced
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1 small onion finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 cup frozen peas optional
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook sliced kielbasa until slightly browned. Remove and set aside.
In the same skillet, sauté onion until soft, then add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
Melt butter in the skillet, then stir in flour and cook for 1–2 minutes.
Gradually add milk and cream, stirring constantly to form a smooth sauce.
Add cheddar cheese and stir until melted and creamy.
Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and oregano.
Add cooked pasta, kielbasa, and peas into the sauce and mix well.
Transfer mixture to a greased baking dish.
Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top.
Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden and bubbly.
Let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
