Equipment

  • Crockpot (slow cooker, 4–6 quart size)
  • Cutting board
  • Sharp knife
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Mixing bowl
  • Wooden spoon or spatula
  • Cheese grater (if using block cheese)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups elbow macaroni uncooked
  • 12 oz kielbasa sausage sliced into rounds
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3 tablespoons butter cubed
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Ingredients

  • Start by slicing the kielbasa into bite-sized rounds. If you’re using block cheese, shred it fresh—this melts much better than pre-shredded cheese.

Step 2: Layer the Crockpot

  • Add the uncooked macaroni to the crockpot first. Then layer in the kielbasa slices evenly.

Step 3: Add Dairy and Seasoning

  • Pour in the milk and heavy cream. Add butter cubes and cream cheese on top. Sprinkle in garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.

Step 4: Add Cheese

  • Top everything with shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese.

Step 5: Cook

  • Cover and cook on high for 2 hours or low for 3.5 hours. Stir gently halfway through to ensure even cooking.

Step 6: Final Stir

  • Once the pasta is tender and the sauce is creamy, give everything a good stir. Adjust seasoning if needed.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!
