Equipment

  • Baking tray
  • Parchment paper or foil
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Mixing bowl
  • Spoon or brush
  • Small saucepan (optional)

Ingredients

  • 2 salmon fillets about 180g each
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon fresh dill optional

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the oven

  • Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Line a baking tray with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup.

Step 2: Prepare the marinade

  • In a small bowl, mix olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, lemon zest, paprika, salt, and black pepper. The mixture should smell fresh and slightly zesty.

Step 3: Prepare the salmon

  • Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Place them on the prepared baking tray. Brush the marinade evenly over each fillet.

Step 4: Bake the salmon

  • Place the tray in the oven and bake for 15–18 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fillets. The salmon should turn opaque and flake easily with a fork.

Step 5: Finish and serve

  • Remove from the oven and sprinkle with fresh parsley and dill. Serve with a squeeze of lemon juice for extra brightness.
