- 2 garlic cloves minced
- 1 cup crushed tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste

- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and black pepper to taste
For the Béchamel Sauce:
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk warm
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- Salt and pepper to taste
For Assembly:
- 9 lasagne sheets
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese shredded
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese grated
Step 1: Make the Meat Sauce
Heat olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook until soft. Stir in garlic and cook briefly until fragrant.
Add the ground beef and cook until browned. Stir in tomato paste, crushed tomatoes, and beef stock. Add oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.
Let the sauce simmer on low heat for 30–40 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thick and rich.
Step 2: Prepare the Béchamel Sauce
In a separate saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add flour and whisk continuously for 1–2 minutes to form a roux.
Gradually add warm milk, whisking constantly to avoid lumps. Cook until the sauce thickens. Add nutmeg, salt, and pepper.
Step 4: Assemble the Lasagne
Spread a thin layer of meat sauce at the bottom of the baking dish. Add a layer of lasagne sheets, followed by more meat sauce, then béchamel sauce.
Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with béchamel and a generous sprinkle of mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
