Ingredients
  

  • 500 g ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes thinly sliced
  • 1 medium onion thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 can 300g cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon oil or butter

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add chopped onion and cook until soft and slightly golden.
  • Stir in garlic and cook for another minute.
  • Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  • Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and thyme.
  • In a bowl, mix cream of mushroom soup with milk until smooth.
  • Lightly grease your baking dish.
  • Layer half of the sliced potatoes on the bottom.
  • Add half of the cooked beef mixture over the potatoes.
  • Pour a portion of the creamy sauce over the layer.
  • Repeat layers with remaining potatoes, beef, and sauce.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  • Remove foil, sprinkle cheese on top, and bake for another 15 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  • Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
