Ingredients
  

For the chicken:

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

For the topping:

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 small onion sliced
  • 1 cup mushrooms sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup mozzarella cheese

Instructions
 

Step 1: Prepare the chicken

  • Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.

Step 2: Cook the chicken

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken and cook for about 6–7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the pan and set aside.

Step 3: Sauté the toppings

  • In the same skillet, melt butter. Add sliced onions and cook until soft and slightly caramelized. Add mushrooms and cook until tender. Stir in garlic and cook for another minute.

Step 4: Assemble

  • Return the chicken to the skillet. Spoon the onion and mushroom mixture over each piece.

Step 5: Add cheese

  • Sprinkle cheddar and mozzarella cheese evenly over the chicken.

Step 6: Melt and finish

  • Cover the skillet and let the cheese melt over low heat, or transfer to the oven and broil for a few minutes until bubbly and golden.
